Ultimate EOR's mission is to provide economically viable Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) solutions to increase oil production from all types of reservoirs.

UEORS was founded by Dr. Gary Pope and Dr. Upali P. Weerasooriya in 2013 to commercialize chemical EOR technology developed at the University of Texas at Austin. We provide EOR services including laboratory studies, reservoir engineering and modeling studies, chemical design, chemical quality control, chemical procurement, and field technical support. We have expanded our business to include North America, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

Globally Renowned Founders

Dr. Gary A. Pope

Dr. Pope holds the Texaco Centennial Chair in Petroleum Engineering at UT Austin, where he has taught since 1977. Pope earned his Ph.D. from Rice University and a B.S. from Oklahoma State University, both in Chemical Engineering. His research is focused on enhanced oil recovery, reservoir engineering, natural gas engineering, reservoir simulation, characterization of reservoirs and aquifers with tracers, surfactants and water-soluble polymers, phase behavior and fluid properties, and groundwater modeling and remediation. In 1999 Pope was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.

Dr. Larry W. Lake

Dr. Lake is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at UT Austin, where he currently holds the W.A. Moncrief Centennial Chair in Engineering. He earned B.S.E and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University and Rice University, respectively. Lake is the author or co-author of more than 100 technical papers, four textbooks and the editor of three bound volumes. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), as well as on several of its committees. Lake's numerous accolades include membership in the National Academy of Engineers, where he was inducted in 1997.

Dr. Upali P. Weerasooriya

Dr. Weerasooriya recently retired as Director of Surfactant Development within the Center for Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering at UT Austin. He earned his PhD from The University of Texas, MS from Bowling Green State University, and BSc from the University of Sri Lanka, all in Chemistry. Weerasooriya had over 27 years of surfactant industry experience before he joined the CPGE in 2008. His accolades include the prestigious Rosen Award (1999, Best Scientist) and the SDA (1998, Best Publication). He has been issued 13 U.S. patents and has commercialized several new surfactant processes. Weerasooriya's research interests are in design, evaluation, and synthesis of new surfactants.

Dr. Kishore K. Mohanty

Dr. Mohanty is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at UT Austin. His research focuses on transport of simple and complex fluids in complex microstructured materials for applications in energy, environment and biotechnology. Many naturally occurring materials such as sandstones, carbonates, aquifers, human bones and tissues are microstructured. Many fluids in these systems are nanostructured. Mohanty's research aims to image these structures, understand the physics of transport, relate the microstructures to transport coefficients and develop new materials for enhanced targeted transport.
